Just a while ago, I was thinking if the "competition" in internet marketing really exists. Are my competitors nothing but pains in the butt? Or can they actually help me improve? I published a post about this on my blog and I concluded that competition doesn’t exist. Well, if it does, it’s not there to make you suffer. It’s there to help you improve! Do let me know your thoughts about this topic. Thanks!
if there is no competition, then i can make a site and be number 1 instantly. however, it wont do me any good because no competition means there is no demand for my site/product.
You can treat as rivalry if it helps you improve your business. Fair competition is good for everyone as it makes everyone try new and better methods to improve your business over your competition. donrock
i run adwords campaign and when I look for new niche to promote, i look at competition. i do not even consider running a campaign where there is any less than 5 page full of advertisers. somewhere between 5-10 page full of advertisers means there is money to be made with this niche. anymore than 10 page full of advertisers means its fierce competition and i stay away. its good business practice for me to play in a moderately competitive market
you can use competition to improve yourself, it may not seem like it but you could also actually work together to achieve goals, share thoughts etc.
I use my competition to my full potential. I look at their sites and analyze how they are different from mine and if they are different, I borrow some of their ideas however at the same time, improving these features.
I tend to focus on the implementation side of things rather than engulfing myself in what the other guy is up to.
Competition in the internet marketing do really exist. Your right! For me, competing to other site, helps instead of making your site suffer. In SEO, competition can be define as a rivalry between two or more companies/site over something. We aim our sites to be in the number position in the search engines. Competing to other companies in the higher rankings is our primary goal.
There is always rivalry between you and your competitors. When you do your SEO works, you must consider websites which rank better than you as your rivals. Therefore, you can improve yourself and burn your motivation. As for video marketing, you must also consider someone else's videos (which get thousands of viewers) in your niche as your competitor. So you'll understand what is the difference between you as a video uploader and your rival. I think competition, both in offline and online world, must be considered as rivalry. If not, you can't improve your business and your ability.
Sounds like a very valid point Wokaka.. As long as one doesn't get discouraged because the next guy appears to have gained some headway. There are so many people with wonderful ideas that have shied away from their plans because of the fear of competition.
i dont bother too much about competition looks lyk google and the internet is a big place and has room for an infinite number of sites in all niches.it does slow down ur traffic generation process though..but i think it is a gud thing..coz there'll always be some1 better than u which means u could learn from them..its somethin lyk a blessing in disguise..
There's definately A LOT of competition. Perhaps more on the internet market that in the real world as there are so many more businesses. BUT Competitors can help you improve through link exchanges etc.
Competition exists and as stated above it usually suggests there is money in the niche, whatever the niche may be. What i dont listen to is when people say dont go into that niche, its too competitive, your site will be too new, you aint got a chance. Theres no way i will listen to anyone trying to tell me to avoid a competitive niche, if anything, a competitive niche will bring out the best in you, it wakes you up, gets you out of your comfort zone and pushes you to do well in it and beat your competitors. Probably the biggest competition is in your mind, one side telling you no its too difficult and the other side telling you to be a warrior and take on the challenge.
