As we all know you can't have a forum without members. A good way to get membes is by having some competitions. If you started a forum before, plese post how you got your members to sign up, what competitions worked what didn't ... Thanks!
Here's an interesting one I ran across: The posts from 1 to 100 look like: "ooh, I got #1" "this is #2" "keep it goin' $10 here I come!" but it's a way to pad the post counts of a couple new members, get them acclimated to posting, increase the stats numbers, etc.
Hmm thats a great idea. Im launching a new website myself soon (waiting to get 10 posts here so I can ask people to review it for me), was going to run a competition and have the winners picked at random but this looks way better, and much more believable to sceptics
have a refferal contest, the person who reffers the most amount of people by a certain date will win a prize. this is agreat contest
