Competition has keyword in the domain name, how can you pass it in Yahoo Engine?

If the competition has the complete keyword phrase (3 words) in the domain, but only has like 44 backlinks and none of them have really high PR, but then our domain has 1 word out of the 3 word keyword phrase and is ahead in Bing/Google but not Yahoo.

Backlinks we have are Yahoo dir, BOTW, HotVsNot, linkwheels, article submissions and etc.

Still not at that #1 spot but in #2 for yahoo.

    Thanks

I have always found that it is difficult to be #1 in all 3 search engines. Yahoo and Bing tend to reward on-page SEO higher. If I were you I would not make any changes which could risk your Google ranking.

As far as I know, Yahoo count all inbound links included those that nofollow, so, just find as much as backlinks for it. I hope it will help you to be Yahoo #1.

I hate yahoo, as it's so hard to get good ranking there, and what drives me mad there is that some websites with just a few pages and backlinks rank much higher.
I agree with CanadianEh, I'd like to do some on page seo but I'm worried about losing my google ranking as in google I'm on page one but in yahoo I'm on pages 5-10.
    Any ideas?
