So I decided I want to be a webhost affiliate. And I know there is huge competition out there, especially with PPC advertising, so I decided for a long term solution SEO is the only way to go. I'm awesome with it comes to SEO, I have about 75 sites right now that all generate a decent amount of traffic with about half of them over 500 or more visits a day. I'm not too woried about SEO. I just want to know is it possible to take on WebHostingTalk and win? I'm in it for the affiliate income, but I'm a wiz at hosting and web applications. I have a passion for it, and I have the tools (DP) to get a forum going and hosting reviews listed. I can already see the site making me $1000 a day a year from now. To me Web Hosting Talk is just about a perfect website. Can I improve on things.... I think I can... SEO wise. What do you think about going the SEO route for the hosting business? Is it crazy... or what.. Kingbrend

WHT is not a overnight miracle. It is the combined efforts of a lot of members over a long period of time.
Right, I'm 99.999% sure I won't get those kinds of stats for 5+ years, even longer. What I want is a site that generates its own traffic (forum) that gives me around 10k visits a day, which will lead to a landing page (home page) comparing competing web host sites. I'm willing and able to provide support for the forum for years to come, I love talking about stuff like web hosting, affiliate marketing, etc. I plan on writing guides, tutorials, news, etc in a blog about web host. I have my own forum already with 1500 members and growing each day on eBay. I know the need for web host information will always be there. That's why I want to do this. I guess I'm just looking for some constructive criticism and maybe some ideas.
my advice? start drinking heavily, so that you'll be in the proper frame of mine for when you realize what it'll take to catch up with wht. hint: people don't go to forums just because of seo.
Hmmm, I'm not trying to surpass them, I know unless some crazy viral marketing occurs that will never happen. I just want to be out there in the web hosting world. Talking about this shit by SEO not PPC. Geez
