I'm not seeing this problem today but I noticed on a couple of my keywords I have been working on that I would see different results. By this I mean that if I did a search 2-3 times the total competing pages would change from 459K to 950K. Obviously, my rank in Google would change from #2 to #7. Any explanation as to why it does this? I've noticed that I'd get different results from different browsers and computers ...etc. I am new to SEO (in practice) and I've never read anything about varied results like this. Anyone else experience this? Any explanation?
Mainly becuase google searches are handled by 30+ different severs, and sometimes there are different results on different servers.
Yea I noticed they have different datacenters using traceroute. Do these synchronize or will it vary no matter what?
Eventually, they will get in sync, only to get out of sync again as the first datacenters bring in even newer results. It's call the google dance, and it's a regular cycle. From http://www.metamend.com/google-dance.html
Maybe your jumping to caffeine powered data center thay is why your getting more competition for the same keyword
The google search varies from place to place. The top #1 at your place may not be tagged top #1 in some other parts.
There are many different Google data centers and each of these may respond with different results for the same search query.
