Compete.com: Referral Analytics - Worth $199/month??

I guess you can now look up your competitors on Compete.com and check to see where they are getting their traffic from and what keywords are giving them the traffic. You can only see the top couple keywords without signing up for a $199/month membership.

Has anyone used this service? Do you think the $199 is worth it?!?

I keep going back there to look up the first 5 keyword that send traffic to a competitors site. I am always wondering if someone has took the plunge and paid the $199 to get the full reports...

I don't think it's worth the $200. If they're giving you the five keywords which send the most traffic, you're already getting the most valuable info for free!

Those five are the ones that might be worth $200/mo!

$199 for just 5 results - too costly
in most of the results wiki site is shown on google and that is surely not our competitor.

The $199 is to see ALL. You get the top 5 for free.

I have a Compete pro account; very much worth it for the information that they provide. I was actually paying more per month to contractors performing a similar service for a few years before I signed up for Compete, and the results Compete provides are of a higher quality than those that I was getting via freelancers.

What sort of work do you do? I guess if you are an SEO consultant, it would totally make sense, but is it worth it if you own a couple sites?

My core business is building and selling sites, with a secondary focus on building non-monetised traffic driver sites. The latter especially benefits from Compete's service since it helps me find areas of a given niche that are sparsely covered by other sites, and helps me identify specific competitors' weaknesses in content (eg. by determining which important keyphrases are the ones for which they aren't ranking.)

So if you have one or two mini-sites, unless it's a super high value commission per sale, I would say it isn't worth the $199 a month; but if you're building a network of sites it's very valuable, and if you have a sizable portfolio (mine tends to run 300-350 sites at any given time) it's essential.
