Would like to hear your thoughts about my new design located here:

    http://www.dealrebate.com

Things of most important to me are possible conversions (percent of people clicking the "compare prices" button) and overall usability.

    Looking forward to your opinions!

I see a nice faint graphic on your header area, I would make those darker and more visible. A nice defined backgroundcolor for your header would be ideal also.

Yup thats a faded city. I put that in to give it some design but at the same time I didn't want it to stick out where it takes away from the users' attention to the products.

The background color for the header might be a good idea... i'll play around with that.

    Thanks!

    Anyone else?

    hi
I have some different suggestion, I think you will not like it, but still I am writing here because its my view.
Its related to header, I would suggest you to move the "shop compare buy" options near the logo "deal rebate .com"
so that height of header reduces

I see too much white, too much empty space. I don't say crowded is better, but try to fill somehow the empty space.

I decided to do it this way because that "shop compare buy" part serves to convince the user and/or tell them about the site.

    Thanks for the opinion!

    few more suggestions
    1. Logo in header should have link to home page
    2. you can try to give box to products, either individual box to each product or one box to all products
    3. also see how the box looks for the section on lefr (Narrow by)
    4. space below the section on left (Narrow by) is empty. and currently the left side box is too small in height than the products displayed, you must utilize that space, so either show some information related to your site, or try one thing (if possible) show the "Narrow by" option in a drop down box above all the products which will use 10 % of the space it is using right now.
    see below for the screenshot
    [IMG]
so that the space is reduced and you can show two products on one line
    5. I will suggest you to go through one site, its http://www.finetuxedos.com/Page/tuxedo-packages.htm
see the box layout to each product, two products on one line(so as to reduce vertical scrolling)
let me know once you follow one or all of this, or if you think its not of use then tell me the reason, because I think your site should be more user friendly

The welcome text needs some formatting.

Good point. I forgot to do that. Done!

Not sure what you mean here. Do you mean enclose each product within a border?

I wanted to show all of the links listed so the user can see them. If it is in a drop down I feel like they are not in plain sight. From a usability standpoint I think they should be available within one click.

Also it serves to build up the layout more giving the feeling that the page is full of content.

    You don't agree?

I do agree with you in that once you scroll down, the left column has too much white space. I may have to come up with additional copy. Perhaps something SEO-friendly.

Are you referring to the text all the way on the bottom? It will be re-written of course.

    Any suggestions on the formating?

IMO, I like the placement of your "Shop, Compare, Buy" buttons, they look /right/ sitting there. I would bring the transparency of the image in the header down a bit, making it just a tad darker.

I also agree with the too much white space issue. A good color in the header would help, as would a light BG color behind your "Narrow By" menu.

    Just my 2cents :)

Good luck with the site, it's looking pretty good :)

Thanks, I think the placement of those buttons is rather good even though some guys/gals advised against it.

I am currently working on adding more content on the left column below the "narrow by" section in order to fill up some of the white space.

    Thanks for the praise!

    Yes..
Some white space between a couple of lines makes it more readable.

I have added some line spacing.

That text is really for SEO reasons anyways. ;)

The site looks great but I'm having a hard time navigating it. Maybe it has some faulty links still.

My apologizes. I was testing a few things on the site and left it like that by mistake last night.

    Fixed now.

I just had a look. The left navigation bar is very long vertically and there is nothing all the way down to the bottom. Thats alot of waste of prime real estate.

You mean the left side of the web site? I agree.

Do you have any recommendations of what to put normally?

I wanted to use a refine search system but unfortunately I am not able to do that since the API shopping.com currently does not provide that information.
