I am watching comparison shopping sites take over the first page of some of my key words. One page has one 'regular placement'. Everything else on the page are ads or Comparison Shopping sites. Anyone know how to complete against this onslought for page rank?
I bet you'll find these in your results: BizRate Kelkoo These are high-traffic sites and they dominate the internet traffic for most e-comm keywords. Regards, Dilip
It's about the quality of links your getting, anchor text, and site structure. Continue to work on it and you'll see your site beat them. You have an advantage of a shopping network, as your site can be an authority within a smaller niche. They may get a lot of links to their site, but the anchor text they're getting for inbound links won't equal the amount of on-target anchor text you're getting for your niche. You'll beat 'em, just keep plugging away!
