I spoke with NewEgg tech support and they were not too familiar with these two products enough to tell me what the difference would be other then usual of one being OEM and the other one the retail version. I know OEM versions for software usually come with only the cd-key sometimes or the cd & cd-key but nothing else, but is that all that is? If someone can spot something else let me know. This is the retail NIS 2009 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832108386 This is the oem NIS 2009: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832108390 If someone could help me figure out why there is a huge price difference and what your not getting out of the OEM version that is amazingly better goign with the retail, please let me know!
the OEM version could be installed on only one PC while, the Retail version can be installed over 3 PCs...!!
ok thanks, so that leaves me to this question. There are 3 versions of what seems to be the same software, and I can't figure out for the life of me what the difference on either of them is / why the prices are different / and I am aware that one is premier but it doesn't state specifically what you get out of the premier that's more then what you get out of the standard retail versions. Wth? lol
okay, here it is: Small box - Retail....& normal Retail. This is a sort of marketing tactic used by newegg.com . Infact, Symantec has reduced the price of NIS 2009. You can verify the price at the Symantec site itself: Click Here Regarding the Premier Edition, it includes an additional software called "Norton SystemWorks".... which is a PC tuning & optimizing software. Hope that helped....
