Toolbar & Directory Page Rank Finished off an article on Toolbar & Directory Page Rank. Look forward to your feedback. With no Toolbar updates for the last 94 days attention has been turning to the PageRank (PR) displayed in the Google Directory that was updated on Aug the 10th. This post looks at the Directory PageRank Scale and how it compares to the Toolbar PageRank Scale. This short primer will get you up to speed on how these 2 different scales relate to each other and to Real PageRank.
I'm not really sure what was I supposed to learn from this? It didn't form any conclusions, at least none that I saw and I'm not sure what you are trying convince me of. I think PR is a waste of time anyway, but that's besides the point.
I appreciated the article Bob. While I agree that PR is really of no value to any of us, it was nice to be able to estimate the PR of a site I have in the directory, but that has no PR. So, the 22 it has now makes me feel a little warm and fuzzy inside.
mopacfan: I was trying to convince you of anything. It was a short article show the the 2 differnet PR scales for the directory and toolbar and giving a bit of support for that. The article is entry level. Not every one is at your level of understanding. So you are not going to benifit from it as must as it is old hat to your. chachi: Thanks. Yes at least the poor PR watchers have the Aug 10th directory update to hold to. It is my position that Real PR is updated everytime there is a BL update. If that is so we have had 4 PR updates this month. For those that have lots of new links that PR is working for them in rankings, and in getting deeper crawls but don't make the partners page more attractive for linking and don't work for bragging rights.
Okee dokey, I just wasn't sure what your point was. I understand more better now Nice article tho, I assume the numbers are the pixel widths for the bar in the directory.
