hi guys, I used both CMS from long time , and i found that joomla is better if you compare both based on database.... in case joomla just we export and import to another new host , does not matter DB export from localhost or vista panel and import into cpanel host bla bla... but in case wordpress when we export from localhost first we have to change all links of site address.... 2nd if we change host lets suppose our first host used vista panel and new host use cpanel then DB sucks... you site not working even backup all folder we need to build form start only another option left backup only topics.. what you think.... If you have any idea to shift WP site from vista panel host to cpanel host with out messing up DB then share plz... thanks, Manan Saini
I dont understand the first thing your taking about. The import and export of a database is NOT dependent on joomla or wordpress. A database is a database, regardless of what accessed it. You create the database, then joomla or wordpress creates the tables inside the database. Then you use phpmyadmin to export or import the database. If the database is too big, use something like bigdump, mysqldumper or putty and a command line to export or import. The only real difference between joomla and wordpress are the number of tables. The last time I saw, Joomla creates around 100 tables, while wordpress creates less then 12. Joomla = bloat wordpress = streamlined, slime, trim and fast Vista panel?? Never heard of it. And regardless if its cpanel or vista panel, its just a way to interface with the mysql server.
hi kev, I m 100% agree with your views. but mine problem is something different that i seen in wordpress. here is easy explanation: 1. First test: Result: Joomla DB maintaince more easy as compared to WP. 2. Now come to 2nd test: 1. Now make you website with fresh install WP on you site , your host must have vista panel. 2. Now lets suppose due to any reason you wanna change your host which is having cpanel then what u will do to shift your site on new host? according to me: but you will find lots of lots of errors that's weird... there is no such headache on joomla DB that's what i wanna say!
