Which one is better? Godaddy's deluxe plan or Hostgator's baby plan. Please give me the pros and cons for both. Thanks.
HostGator is great web hosting. I've been with them for a long time with no problems. I do not recommend godaddy for web hosting only for domain registrations.
If only these 2 choices available - HostGator with no doubt. GoDaddy expertize is domain registration and not web hosting industry. They cannot be compared to HostGator in every aspect.
I suppose if you do the search for their names you will be able to find plenty of reviews for both of them.
I really heard a lot of good things with hostgator. I might host my site there but I got several new websites on a really tight budget. I was planning to host there but when they say a single domain, does it means I can only host 1 website? or can I use a subdomain and point another domain there? Is it possible?
On their hatchling for $6.95/m [for 12 month payment] account they only allow 1 domain hosted. You will have to upgrade to their Baby plan for $9.95/m [for 12 month payment] to host multi domains.
I suggest you hostgator choose 12month payment and search about discount coupon provide you $25 discount. :
Neither Godaddy or Hostgator are PCI compliant. If security is a concern to you, I recommend going a different route. Ask them if your web site will be PCI compliant when you place your order. If they have no clue what you are talking about, they likewise have no security focus. Do you really wish to host where they could care less about security is the big question. Getting hacked is no fun, and costs far more than the difference you would pay for a web host who is far more security conscious (i.e., care about your business as opposed to their own bottom line...). (having recently had to "fix" dozens of hacked web sites hosted at Godaddy and Hostgator I'm not very impressed) Best Wishes, Hackrepair
As a domain register the Godaddy is the best. I'm with them since 2001. They are not really good as a hosting provider, their control panel drives me crazy. I like very much the HostGator, I've been in shared linux hosting since 2007. Great support (they know what they doing). In the past I had HostMonster, BlueHost, DreamHost before and the HostGator is the favorite one.
