Compaq 7360 Upgrade - Finished!

    Just finished upgrading my very very old Compaq (on the cheap). The only original piece left is the case. Which I liked the looks of for some reason.

    In more detail...

    My host has been acting funky today so that page might or might not show up...

    and good grief, it ought to be leaps and bounds faster than the old system!!

    I got lazy this time around and went for a full out new system built by someone else!

    No question about it being faster... I could have saved about $20 and ended up with a better power supply if I had bought a new case w/ power supply instead of buying a seperate new power supply, hdd fan and pci slot fan... Doing that also would have allowed me to get a different MB/CPU combo which could have shaved off another ~$20.

    but once again... I just really liked the looks of that old case.

    I'm thinking about doing some more dremmel work and adding a couple of front USB ports beside the 3 1/2 inch enclosure. The pinouts are on the motherboard for them... and it's such a hassle to have to dig around to the back of the case to get to the current ports...
