I recently recive 6 backorders from name Snap Names, but that domain names was wroung typos on my keyboard. It was my fault for typing wrong keywords, thats ok, but why a company take advantage and register a domain that have never register before?
They told me I have to pay 69 usd and I explain ... this is an invalid backorder becouse this 6 domains was free in the moment I backorder.
They try to charge my card few times but the card didnt have necesary founds transfered, as I dont keep into my card more then I need.
I told them this are not a real backorders and is ok for me to pay if they want, but a normal registration tax and no more.
They reply me back and told me they will do one time exception and I have to pay 50%. This is 34,5 usd/ per domain x 6 domains.
I told them this is a backorder service, and not a wey to take advantage of someone who type wrong typo domain names that have never been register by anyone before, what so ever.
I told them I want to pay no more then 14,5 usd per domain.
They send me back a message and told me this is ok, they try to charge my card but I've seen their message the next day.
While I was prepare to transfer founds into my card, I recive another message where I was told they let the domains go and I dont have to pay anything as the domains are now free to be register.
They didnt suspend my acound pr ever mention about this, becouse they know I am right.

What do you think? Is normal to pay backorder fee for wromg typos names that have never been register before in the entire internet history?
Are there other backorder service companys that do that?

it is not normal to make those errors when registering domain names, especially when it costs you $69 USD per name.
I assume Snapnames don't have the verification on weather the domain was registered before - and why should they - the whole idea of drop-catching is to register the domain at that very short moment the domain becomes available, and when it was available - they have registered it. Just like if you would backordered a domain that already dropped, they would register it as well.
Sorry for your $$$ loss. try to be more careful next time at $69 per name

I didnt lost $$$. They "let the domains go". But first they try to charge me for 69 $, then for a half, then for 14,5$. They faild so they "let the domains go" and now are available for registrations.
They didnt register this from the begining. Has been some mounths since I order them and they register them. They register them but only for a week or so. Is this possible? It looks like it is with big companys.
