Good Morning everyone! I have started up a new company and would like to know your first impressions of our first BETA website and what impressions you get of the company. www. mk pipe .co. uk Code (markup): Please remove the spacing. The Company is due for opening within the next 6 months and looks to cover every IT solution under one roof. From Broadband, webhosting, shoutcasts, resellers, web design, hardware and more. The lot. All under one roof. I would like reviews on the website so far, it is not alot to look at but just want your feedback on: The website The Company first impressions. Thanks all, All Genuine reviews will recieve Rep+. Kind Regards.
I can see what you're trying to do with the website design - like bananalive said try adding some images (1 per box, all inline) and make the titles more prominent. The business concept is interesting. All the best with it... I guess you have a massive budget to play around with
Ponynugget... What do you mean by interesting? Could you expand a little more? Also large budget? What gave you that impression Rep+ added. More reviews welcome. Kind Regards.
Interesting in a good way, don't you worry. It's good to see someone take on a different approach other than jumping on the web-hosting-only bandwagon. I'm sure having everything a business needs to get on the web will give you a very unique competitive edge. I just assumed a large budget since it wouldn't be so cheap to set one of these things up. Or correct me if I'm wrong...
Okay I really like the layout of it so far. It is simple and easy for anyone going to your site to find exactly what they may want (it's simple and to the point). I would leave the color scheme the way it is. Text grapics ratio? Alot of text no graphics. I would add some graphics on to your main page, like maybe somekind of logo. Overall I give it a 8/10 just becuase I haven't been able to look at the rest of the site. I will check back every once in a while. Good luck!!!
Thanks for all your feedback! We are re-convening tomorrow so I will issue the new Plan of Action then. I am on a business trip next week to finalise the minor details but so far it all looks very good. To answer your question, yes you do need financial backing, this is not my first company as you may be able to tell from my name, we all have to start somewhere and being ambitious is a good thing so take that in mind when you decide on your business adventures! Hopefully the site should be up and open for business within approximatly 2-3months That includes all broadband setup etc, hopefully we should have the ball rolling We may Open certain areas sooner. Either way I will keep you updated in this thread so check back Anyone else with comments etc are more than welcome. Rep+ given. Many thanks, Kind Regards.
Ok, website is now updated and a complete new look. Still under construction but looking good. Comments and ideas are welcome below. Regards,
It looks like a great start, a few things I'd modify/add: 1. A short slogan or explanation of what your company does, near or around the logo. 2. Logo is a little too shiny for the gray background at the top. 3. Page breaks: even a simple horizontal line will help separate content. This simple tweak will add some much needed depth to your pages
Ok people. Website is now up to date and taking its form. Thoughts and comments please? Rep+ added. Regards.
A couple of points from me. The logo is extremely poor in my opinion. It actually looks like it's been made with a web 2.0 logo generator. I would seriously consider getting this aspect improved. You need to develop a brand - an identity. Something unique associated with you and your company. Sorry, but that logo just doesn't cut it. Check out David Pache and his work to get an idea of what I mean. Secondly, your website doesn't validate. For an online company such as yourselves that provides 'web design' amongst their services, I am amazed your own website isn't valid XHTML and standards compliant. Some food for thought. I'm aware that my post is quite negative but I'm sure you want constructive criticism that you can use to improve your web presence. Good luck with your venture - Matt
As for the logo, I like the flash, but have it only go through the sequence once then fade away to a company logo with your slogan. Also, your content is spaced too far apart. Try using page breaks (some sort of stylish horizontal bar), which will allow you to move your content closer together while still separated. Hope this helps, Kevin
