Just do a google search. You might need a US Social Security #, but i'm not sure. I would suggest registering in Delaware or Nevada for tax reasons.

You need to be in the USA to have a company there or you need to be a citizen with a valid social security number .

If I am not wrong, OP is rather interested in knowing exactly how to incorporate a company in US being NON-US resident?

Even I'm interested in knowing if it is possible to non-residents to register a company (maybe a LLC) in the USA. If yes, how and what sort of investment and other charges will one have to pay to get it done?

Yes, you can register regardless of your city, state, country or planet. You don't have to be a resident. You can look at Wyoming and New Mexico corps or LLC. PM me if you have more questions or just ask here so that others can learn from it also.

You don't require an investment and price of forming a corp or LLC differs from state to state.

If I may ask, why do you want to form a corp or LLC, so that I can better understand what you are trying to do.

Least I forget, registering a company in the USA starts from $90 if you DIY or from $200 if you want a company to do it for you.

    Oliebu,
For a moment, let's forget that you have just joined recently and concentrate on your rates that seem to pretty reasonable - as far as for me, the main motive is to have a real US Bank account for international financial transactions. If that can be achieved without forming the company, nothing could be better.

Are you feeling like you could be helpful for that?

It has become increasingly more difficult to open Corporate bank accounts talk-less of regular account. It can still be done but it requires a lot more leg work. There are companies that offer to open it on your behalf, appoint an accountant to act as your signatory and vest all the power of management to you. This makes your account look for legitimate.

Normally, you are expected to pay a monthly fee to keep the service up. I can not attest for a company so as not to lead you astray but you can readily find companies that offer that sort of service on Google.

Anymore questions, I will be glad to help.
