Hi all i would like advice on the use of company logos
I run a mens designer clothing website and would like to know if i am able to use clothing companies logos or do i need permission to use them. I have been informed that i dont because im using it to sell their products.

That's right: you can use company logos if you are selling their products.

My unfamiliar understanding, though, is that you may not imply that these companies (who own the logos) endorse your site/practices. In other words, you cannot create confusion throught the use of these company logos. I believe mere use of a company logo falls under "nominative use"/fair use. See http://www.publaw.com/fairusetrade.html for more info.

You would also be advised to check with the copyright holders. Cisco, for example, does not allow usage of their logo unless you are a certified partner
