Hello all! I am currently in the process of finishing my marketing master's thesis, and the topic is about "Online Community Member Motivation", aka what motivates people to contribute (more) to an online forum (like DP). More about the survey: The survey tries to find relations between various aspects, features and user opinions about the experience in a community. The survey's results shall give insights about "what works" and "what helps" an online community (like the DP forum) to strive and build more traffic thru a more motivated user base. The insights and results will be summarized and published here as well once it's finished, of course - no secret mumbo jumbo. The whole survey was derived from about 60 pages theories summarized in the thesis - and I can provide that as well to interested parties once it's approved, but that's in german language only. HOW YOU CAN HELP: 1. by participating in the beta test (ASAP) 2. by linking to this post, i.e. mentioning it in some relevant thread (no spamming please!) 3. OF COURSE finally by participating in the final survey So, before launching the survey to public access for a week, I need a couple (10-20) beta testers than click thru those 25 questions. The I need feedback especially on - what questions you didn't clearly understand or misinterpreted - what questions annoyed you most (aka would have cause abortions) and other things you think that could improve the survey. After all, the survey will hit an audience of max 20k users, and I really need to make sure it's well tested, because I don't want to have to run it twice. All data collected will be evaluated only by statistical methods, so no personal data is collected, except (any email) separately for the sweepstake (but that's your choice to participate) This beta test should only run for 24-48 hours - I plan to launch the final survey on Monday latest already!
