Does anyone have any positive experience in a community building? What is the must-do list for building a community? The situation is that I presently own a blog for DJ's where I post links to fresh music. And now I want to turn this blog to something bigger - to a community with lots of UGC. Any advices on community building? Links to cool articles are highly welcome thanks
Create a Facebook fan page and aggressively promote it on your blog. Once you get enough fans, then generate continuous discussions that will invoke comments - something like "This latest song from XYZ is awesome. Did you like it", etc. People pour back with comments and how it rocked or how it sucked. Keep doing it, and then once you reach a more mature audience, you can move it back to a section on your website.
so you want me to move attention from my blog to my facebook page and create a community there? what about the community on my own website? should I launch a forum? should I create some user accounts with some kind of awards for posting etc?
