I'm trying to start up a community blog (Link in sig) but I'm having trouble finding people to write free articles for the blog. It offers: Any article length Unlimited back links in each articles Free exposure Free traffic What is it I'm doing wrong here in getting this thing going, I think I'm being lenient with the requirements but what do I have to do to get some bloggers there? EntreCard prises? Site wide links? What? Btw: If you have a blogger account and want to sign up the link is in my sig, ok enough advertising for this thread.
Maybe you can run that community blog at your own dot com. Using blogger its not suitable and its not attract us.
I don't need to attract you I just need to attract some people, I'm asking what I can do to make it more appealing.
Well here's my opinion... People who want "Unlimited back links in each articles" usually want them from a site with high PR, such as Squidoo. Your site needs a high PR. People who want "Free exposure" usually want to know that there are people there to read their articles, like at EzineArticles or HubPages. You need lots of visitors. People who want "Free traffic" would also want your site to have tons of visitors that would potentially click to their site. So it's the age-old catch 22: you need traffic to attract authors, but you'll need authors and content to attract traffic. You could hold contests, pay people per post, do a revenue share, buy links so your site has a high PR, or anything that you normally do to make a site popular. But I have to agree with titaniumhijau. Anyone can start a free Blogger blog and get the same benefits you are offering at the moment, so it's not that attractive to us. And if you just want to attract some kids, that's fine, but then you're competing with Myspace and LiveJournal...
Finally some interesting ideas, so extra link building for a high PR and some paid posts in the beginning.
IMHO, design wise, use a dark colour font on light background, like DP. People might find that easier to read. The blog idea is great, but like other members have said, it's not new and you need a website.
