During the sub prime hay day, I had access to a very large bank's sub prime database. I needed to get acquainted with the database's schema so I ran some queries and ordered and sorted results. I found some very interesting things like the limited number of areas with high concentration of sub prime, the large number of sub prime mortgages that were refinanced with sub prime, and most surprising was the letter z. I did a search by last name and 8 of the top 10 last names included the letter z. So as much as the media wants to focus on sub prime, most of the layoffs are behind us, the over leveraged homeowners are from a limit number of areas, and if your name didn't ended in z, odds are you weren't effected.
