It would help if you posted the article or posted a link to it.

I only come here for the laughs. Most come here cause they think they're serious.

Well could you use your forum frying skill to convince Sitepoint to use a smaller font on their main page ? Ever since they made the latest change their front page looks resembles the beginning of a Star Wars movie . You might want to remind them about something called UX .

I gave up on Sitepoint a couple years ago. They have a pro-Microsoft mentality and no amount of facts will sway them from that. When last there, someone was still promoting IE6 as one of the best browsers of all time. I had to go. Couldn't take it anymore.

WOW I didn't expected such an answer , i always thought things are a bit more professional over there , although i must say that I've seen some nutty posts from people that sport the title of mentors . What forum would you recommend for a webmaster ?

If you're running Microsoft software, they can be. Just don't suggest other browsers or *nix or "open source". They never heard of 'em. (Yes, I'm exaggerating.) There are were a few good ones there, like Autistic Cuckoo.
I don't have much faith in forums anymore. I used to mod one but resigned cause I don't have the time. I'm still there as an "Expert" though. I don't know if suggesting one here will get me in trouble with DP or not but you can google my handle and "expert" to find it.

-Making a site too big for you to get off the ground instead of starting off small with a specific niche
-Missing out on customizations due to using free webhosting
-Spending too much time wondering what template you should use
-Chasing visitors away with background music
-Having too many big images and javascripts being loaded on your site making it slow
-Your site looks too cluttered making your visitors confuse in knowing where to go or what to click
-Linking to sites filled with spam
