Streaking, a common prank in the 1970's, may result in a teen being labeled a sexual offender in this recent case from Utah..

    PLEASANT GROVE -

A Pleasant Grove teen might face jail time after streaking during the Pleasant Grove High School homecoming pageant.

An 18-year-old student at Pleasant Grove High school is drawing attention from police for running across the stage nude in the school's auditorium.

The teen's name is not being released until an arrest has been made. The man will be charged with lewdness in the presence of a minor, a class A misdemeanor.

Police the charge of lewdness in the presence of a minor stems from the fact that many young children were present in the audience of roughly 800 people.

If the teen is convicted, it is possible he will have to register as a sex offender because he is an adult.

how ridiculous, in britain streaking is not as i am aware a sex offence, but described as 'disturbing the peace' or 'indecent exposure'. quite often people streak across cricket fields during live matches over here, and i have heard of students doing it during 'rag week' or after graduation. it is silly and usually ill advised, especially in our rather chilly british climate, but c'mon a sex offence, that refer to heinous crimes of a sexual nature, not a harmless teenage prank.

Anything involving nudity must be sexual... typical prudish American legislature and judiciary in action.

Given that Utah has laws like this:

"It is illegal to cause a catastrophe."

I think it is pretty normal...

Sex offender=urinating in the wrong place
Sex offender= being falsley accused in divorce

So many things that are non-sexual, accidents or just bad judgement lead to mens live being ruined.

Its a witch hunt and women know how to use the system to destroy men.

Never mind the racket that they get the sole choice in whether or not to keep a baby when pregnant, but the man can be held responsible for child support regardless. If a woman wants to keep a child that's fine, but then to also include the concept that the man is responsible for child support whether he wants the child or not, is ridiculous in my opinion.

I agree, the kid was probably just craving a little attention... Tried to get some laughs... No reason for charges...

True. But it gets even more bizarre. The man will also be responsible for any children she has by an extramarital affair. Children not his own!

ugghhh. No wonder men flip out.
