Hi, Reading alot about generating back links by posting comments in blog/article/forums? Does this work? Totally understand the issue over 'do follow' but if you post a link in a 'do follow' does it have any benefit in seo? and serps? thanks inadvance.
blog commenting and article submisison works but forums posting dont have a whole lot of SEO benefit. yuo can read the article i wrote about link building to get familiar with various link building methods
If the post is relevant to the page you're linking to, if the post is indexed, and the link is dofollow... yes it's a valid back link. These can give you a nice boost initially... when it's on the blogs home page (and linked to from home, category and archive pages) since the home page is passing it some decent juice. Once the post where your comment lives moves off the blog's home page and is only linked to from the main category and archive pages, it loses a lot of its punch. Then once the post where your falls off of the main category and archives page and can only be found by paging back to the previous 10, previous 10, etc. posts the link will likely carry even less punch... Because of the nature of blogs (and forums and article submission sites)... they tend to lose their effectiveness over time. This means if you use this as a link development strategy you have to constantly be commenting just to maintain.
Post to the relevant blog,if it is do follow, you can get a backlink and i think if this blog has more visitors, it also could get you traffics.
great advice Canonical - thanks. So my next question is how to find blogs that are 'do follow' with a set industry? say banking...
