Comments with Links. Is it a problem?

    I keep getting comments posted on my blogs with stuff like "Great information. Well done!" and the comments like these have a >> hyperlinked to another blog or site.

    I don't think it's a problem for me. Your thoughts?

    hahaha... definitely spam - remove them...

    i got my blog banned because of these scumbags - they were linking mostly to poker sites...

    The blog is on blogger. How can I install it on there? Is there a way of stopping it? Can I remove the comments manually in Blogger?

    The links are useless search engine wise because blogger makes the comment with no-follow

    I get around 40 comments each in only 1 blog of mine,

    Buy cheap viagra
    cheap pills
    reduce cancer

    Blah blah etc.

    I use spam karma for that.

    1. Settings - Comments.
    2. "Show word verification for comments" - check "yes".

    turning on captcha is the best option at the moment but it won't help much because these spammy comments are posted by people most of the time.
    I never used haloscan but since they have their own comment and trackback setting so they might be having options similar to akismet.
