Hi, I've been working on a new site that allows domain searches based on either typos or thesaurus suggestions. For example look for yahoo and this will check to see if the following misspelled domains are registered : yahoo, ahoo, yhoo, yaoo, yaho, yaho, ayhoo and so on..., looking for house in a thesaurus search will look for house, dwelling, abode, building and so on. Currently, I'm looking for feedback on the site design, any functionality that is missing and any suggestions for improving the site. You'll see from the URL that I haven't even got as far as finding a permanent host, part of your feedback will help me decide if I should take this any further. Anyway, the site is at http://www.virtualcongleton.com/domains/index.asp , I look forward to your comments. Cheers Phil
The site looks empty when I open it. On the place where the results are shown fill the place with some content. Althrough, interesting site.
The empty whole gap on the right side makes you look unprofessional. Maybe you should move the search in the middle of the page, or fill up the empty area with some content.
The tool is a good one and I'm sure domainers will like it. This tool could be added to any IT related website, your site still needs some work, mostly content. Buy a couple of domain related articles and find yourself a good affiliate program to monetize the site. Nice concept!
Hi Folks, Thanks for your comments about the site, I've made a few changes (I know, its taken me 3 months!, life keeps getting in the way!). Part of the progress is in registering a domain (found by the site incidentally!). You can now find the tool at http://www.domaindetector.net. one question that I have for all you potential users, what further domain extensions would you like the site to search for? Cheers Phil
The site really does look empty right now. I think you'd benefit greatly from more content, as well as making the background color of the sidebar match the red color of the header logo. The peach doesn't really go with the bright red. I like your logo very much, though.
Cheers for the feedback, I've added part of the news feed onto the front page now so that it 'appears' fuller. Has anyone found any decent domains with this? Cheers Phil
