CometQuery.com has now gone beta. Still not upto the quility of such sites as http://www.surch.com/ but I hope you can still a change in the search on CQ. Here is what is new since alpha

    • Now alot of the time searching took AGES. We have tryied to reduce this by caching, thus meaning more searchs done the faster it will be.
    • We have a new color :p. I found blue a tad dull and went with something that I sure most of you would insult
    • We will be introducing images & video search within the next 24 hours. Along with audio :p.

      Check it out: http://www.cometquery.com
      Comments welcome!

Hey hmm the new layout looks kinda kidish but I think that was your point...Also just wanted to point out that I went to your donate page and you have this listed

CometQuery search engine provides one of the best search engines around, however we want to do more than just that. Comet Charity is the movement from the CometQ team, we hope that profits from our search engine can help others. Profits may come from Advert clicks, paid services or sale of parts of our website. We will donate 75% of all profits. We must stress however you will end up costing us money if you click on adverts which do not intrest you, help us help charity's and only click on adverts which really do interest you.

While you are telling people that they shoudl only click on ads that interest them you are still giving an incentive for them to click by saying that your donating 75% to charity. Also, according to Adsense TOS you cannot draw attention to your adverts. I'm not an expert but I thought I would warn you before you got in trouble. If I'm wrong someone please correct me. Thanks!

I know thanks for that tip Mystickcal. I will change that page after doing a job. Your fully right I think. I kind of found it hard how to word it, I wanted to get the chairy side accross without pushing people to click on links. It was to hard I guess, must of failed. Adsense are going soon anyhow.

Hmm well you could always mention that 75% of all profits from CometQ are donated to charites, I would even say you can say that includes ads like you did, however I would take out the part telling people to click on ads that they are interested in.

Sebastya, the logo does not normally look like that. Changed it to the simple logo now. Guys, comments are really wanted.

Your english is a little off.

You should probably show them the URL instead of that. A lot of people subconciously form a first impression about a site based on the URL.

What's flipnsearch? I thought you were CometQuery.
Also, your logo should be linked to your main page. Just standard practice.

Last but not least, you are missing meta keywords and description.

I liked it. Quite clean look. Due to the screenshots of the websites, have you given thought to having the google ads change colours using a script to change the colour patterns? Digital Point does this (have a look at ads at top right) and someone posted a script to do just this a week or two ago.

Some of the sample searches I did, the adsense ads did not catch the eye at all.

Well to be honest I am not to concerned about making money from the site at moment, and we wont be using normal methods of getting money, we will be thinking up of new methods, (not spyware or anything the user would hate!!)

    This is flipnsearh.

Who did you outsource this to TVCokeCan? Because that looks a like the results and text on flipnsearch.com.

Strangely enough Flipnsearch is now down.

I wouldn't want people to think wrong about you, but flipnsearch has been around for a few months, your site is new.

In the 2nd tier Search Industry, it is traffic not algo that matters.

Meaning traffic, or building a small niche is 100 times for important then building a good search engine. You can always build one later, but you can't always get users.

    IMO, concentrate on traffic.

Of course you are not meant to say, and it is not shocking to you that another site has EXACTLY the same results as you?

You see I have been watching this thread since last night and I have tested quite a few searches. They are the same results, and you are not - as you outsourced it yourself - refined enough to remove the one mention to FlipNsearch that would attract my attention.

So... Flipnsearch was sold as unique and now we have a clone.

I know they look alike but they are based on FULLY different systems, will send you the code for you :). Look at:

http://flipnsearch.com/core_search.php?qry_str=Hello The Official Sanrio Website. Home of Hello Kitty is on CometQ.

I did however take the firefox plugin, but I made that after selling the site as a gift for him. The first 4 results tend to be the same, but alot of the keywords also leave same sites on Yahoo and MSN. I hope my itrader and green show me not to EVER con someone. I built a new search engine as to be honest I enjoy making them, mainly one uses lots of search engines, and CometQ uses a simple RSS spider. Oh also do a whois to see that I do infact also host flipnsearch :)

Well this is what I think.

Your ID here is TVCokeCan - The Yahoo Messenger ID I have for your "Friend" is TVCokeCan

Whois for CometQ - Same name/address/company as the info for the whois of flipago.info which I also bought from your "Friend".

You were selling X0606.com lately on this forum - Same domain as the email contact for the sale.

Flipnsearch is down, had forgot to update the DNS. But this is what I have to say: If you want to con people soapbath, learn to cover your tracks.

Ok I am confused of what you are trying to accuse me off? Did you buy flipnsearch? If so I really want to prove to you its not the same script. Sent FTP login details, have a snif around the script and get a fill for it. Also , add me to MSN.
