I am a comedy writer, and have created a new website/service aimed at helping others write jokes, come up with joke/bit ideas and more. Am seeking advice/reviews on my site and adsense placement (check out a sample posting here): http://www.jokestarter.com/?p=647 Basically, I take weird news stories, rewrite them, then post them with joke/bit ideas ("Jokestarters") as bullet points at the end of the story. Am using 336x280 boxes, but have yet to try text wrapping (not sure how to do that even; am using Wordpress). Since implementing the 336x280 ads, I've noticed better results, but could use some advice/tips. Traffic-wise I average around 300-400 users per day, with peaks of 1,300 (got 27 diggs) and 1,000 (got on stumbleupon), all without any kind of press release or paid publicity. thanks, scott schaefer http://www.jokestarter.com
I would remove the very last ad because visitors don't focus there.. and then place another 250 x 250 ad below your psots
I presume you're talking about the Google text link ad just below the story? Or are you referring to the banner in the footer? thanks, scott
Ok, I deleted the Adsense link ads below the post, and added a 250x250 ad there instead. I also figured out how to wrap text around the ads, and moved the photos/graphics down in the body of each story to try and balance the page out; check out the revisions: http://www.jokestarter.com/?p=647 http://www.jokestarter.com/?p=649 Please let me know your thoughts! thanks, scott
Just tested my site out on Mac, using IE 5.2, and no Google ads show up at all! Anyone have any suggestions/ideas? Everything works fine in Mac Firefox and Safari, but not in Mac IE. http://www.jokestarter.com Heeeellllllpppppp! thanks, scott
