.com vs keyword URL

is it more important to have a .com or a URL with your desired keywords in it?

For example. I could buy mykeywords.net or MySecondaryKeywords.com

What would be better for long term SERPs and marketing in general do you think?

it dose not matter if you have .com or .net url. what matters is the content that you offer in your site. the more quality enrich content would attract more users to your site.

Keywords in url is a major ranking factor just as keywords in title. As to the TLD question, it's been my experience that com,net & org are fine. I've never used biz so I can't comment on using it.

I think I'd personally go with the .com even if it's your secondary keyword. You could still market and plan your SEO around your main keywords.

Correct as w3bmaster told that tld doesnt count in SEO. But choose your domain tld based on your website nature. If you want your website for commercial purpose then go for .com or .net if you want it for education go for .edu and so on. Comparing .com and .net then you can choose any or both, Both means purchase both work on one and another for redirect to one you are working on. If you are sharing information only then .info if advisable.

    hope this will help.

I have two projects which have keywords in there domain but one is on .com and another one is on .net i can the difference the domain with .com have ranked easily but .net is not, one think more if your .com domain with keyword is on first position then it will always on top. due to rich domain .. so try make domains with keyword and if it is .com then it will be more effective then other.

Having your primary business keyword as your domain name always help you to get higher search engien rankings on different search engiens. URL's are the primary things which are crawled by search engien crawlers and when they find primary search keyword in your domain name they put your domain above to all other domains.

.com or any other extension does not effect too much for the ranking of your site.

As already mentioned it makes no difference what TLD you have .com and .net or even .org are all treated the same, only time TLD matters is to help search engines give geo location importance for instance if you wanted to target the UK you would be slightly better off using .co.uk

Keywords in the URL on the other hand are quite important, not the be all and end all of course but gives a nice little boost and well worth doing if your buying a new domain anyway. But of course site design and quality content is much more important aswell as getting good quality relevant inbound links.

Your keyword in your url is very helpful in ranking in SERP. The extension .com, .net. etc are not a big matter. They only describe the nature of your business.
