I'm sure this has been talked about, but I couldn't find it right off the bat... what is a better domain ... .com or .net? i know that neither matter for SEO, but I am a big believer in .com because people (from the US) have ".com" engrained
I did a similar thread earlier today. About using hyphens with a .com as opposed to a .net Check it out also
I have always preferred .com and it is the most common and if someone knows your website name, chances are they will type in the address with .com. However, with that said, I have seen some successful sites with other domain extensions. It is all about how much work you do and how good the site and content is. Any extension can be a top site with the correct work. I would not limit myself to .com if I find a good name in another extension.
I think they both have the same affect honestly, however, like the majority of the webmasters in the world .com is more known. It's used much more, and people always seek the .com first out of anything! I do own a .net domain though, they still contain the same affect!
