.com over to .tv

Hi

I'm interested to buy one domain name with .tv extension but I'm not sure is it ranked equally to .com on search engines?

I heard that .info is considered like spam ( probably not true), so I'm just checking before I purchase it.

If it's available I would take it. But it isn't

i think it depends on how popular that .com is ..also it has some advantage as it is a .com

In my case there's no identical .com ( at least it's not online), so I just asking does Google rank .tv domains with the same rules, will my ranking would be fair, it will not be lowered just because it's .tv?

Although .tv word is related to my niche, but from my knowledge on SEO - it doesn't matter, it's not a keyword......?

I dont think it matters anymore what domain extension you use as long as you have good content it should rank similar to .com domain

 

The contents of a site will determine its rank. I have several sites with .info extension doing fine with unique contents. Those who said that sites with .info extension are being ignored (or given very little notice) by the SEs are the ones who kept repeating the "wise words" of those who do not have sites with such extension.

If I have site featuring tv programs (reviews, etc.) I will get a domain with .tv extension. Never mind if its price is costly.
