    Hi,

If we compare .com, .net, and .info domains with .co.cc, they are both equivalent or .co.cc and .info have less value ?

Please share your views. I am planning to register few domains but I am confused either I should invest in .com, .net, info or go for free .co.cc domains.

    Please share your views.

I suggest you don't waste your time on co.cc..
if you're going to get serious on your IM journey..
then you must also pick serious TLDs.. .com would be your first choice..
if it's taken then .net and .org would be your last pick
and yes .info is better than .co.cc

So .info should be last option if I am not able to find .com, .net and .org ? and should not consider .co.cc at all ?

    .com is the best choice!

    I think .co.cc is a subdomain.

These domains should be splitted in 2 groups

    1. Common TLD - com / net / biz / org / info. All of them has similar value in the SEO perspective. None positive or negative neither. Every TLD in this group can have potential to be ranked for every keywords i Google.com first page. It's depend on Content / Inbound Links / Domain Age / Trust / Establishment.

    2. Second level TLD - .co.cc. This type of TLD is an exact similar to xxx.blogspot.com / xxx.wordpress.com. They are subdomain and not a real one, just under .co.cc Even Google will treat subdomain as a separate website but it would not be similar to common tld. You have to put at least 150% in effort to put this type of TLD to get ranking in Google.com first page for high competitive keywords.

    Here are your choices.

    1. If you can choose in all TLD - Go for .com only since it has advantage on people assumption. If two website has a similar name and people just remember site name but not TLD, most of them are likely to go type direct for .com first before other TLD. This is how most common peoples do assumption.

    2. If you cannot choose .com - .net and .org is a second good choice somehow. .biz and .info is a bit confuse for common peoples that are not geeks.

    3. If you have to choose between .com with no keywords in it and other TLD with the keyword you wanted. It depend on your own preference.
3.1 If you are going to build up branding - Go for .com that easy to remember instead of keywords in it.
3.2 If you are going to do SEO and need some advantage - Go for other TLD with the keyword you wanted.

    4. If you have to choose between common TLD and .co.cc - Go for common TLD

.info is an excellent choice, if your site is an informational site about a city/country/celebrity etc., or the .com, .net, .org domains are not developed.
If you want to create a shop/service site/any kind of business, the .com is the greatest extension (but .net is also great).
Forget co.cc domains, they have almost no value.
