Depends. You can make a brand out of "download.ie" but forget about the type-in traffic. On the other hand, "downloadie.com" might bring you some type-in visitors.
Its all how you get the word out. If they KNOW its .ie, they will type .ie instead of .com. I recommend you include the .ie in the logo so it is seen on top of every page.
Well im the one that thinks that .ie is not so good domain. An average person does'nt even know that there exist anything else than .com's. Majority will type in downloadie.com or just download.com. They would think its a spelling mistake or just automatically without thinking would write .com, its just so much used extension.
