I know I have posted this before but I'm about to spend allot of money on optimization. I'm debating on transferring my site to a .com name. I've done searches for a multitude of keywords and all I see is .org and .com Now if I move my site will I get busted for duplicate content since my .info will have the same content as my .com?
Rather than doing all that why not just by the .com and forward it to the .info? And when you build back links use the .com. Search engines spider web pages. Not domain names. KP
Whoever told you that needs shooting. Nothing wrong with redirections if they are done right. It will just save a lot of messing around for you. KP
Redirection can get you banned You only do this if you know how to You will need to use a script that reads user-agent and has a database of SE's IP address It will redirect if a person is visiting and it will cloak it a SE is visiting The safest is by using flash redirect The best solution is to have 2 sites NEVER settle for duplicate content Rewrite, rewrite, rewrite the content for the other sites
What if I take the other site down? With the same content? How do you do the flash redirect? I'm redirecting from Godaddy is that bad?
Then take it down, its your choice Its an advance SEO, Blackhat You need a script Redirecting from or to? I dont get what you are trying to do sorry
TLDs (.com, .org, etc) have no effect on SERPs. Buy the .com and just redirect it to the .info simply for the brandability. There's nothing wrong with that.
