    Hi,

I have a site that is a .com, the content is SOLEY aimed at the uk though, would i be better setting the geo to uk? or would that just hurt my google .com search results?

    thanks

The geography location adjustment will hurt your current ranking in Google.com without a doubt. If I were you I would avoid change the setting and focus on build link from UK relative website instead. Otherwise you may consider create a separated website with .co.uk extension and hosted under UK web hosting company. It could give you an advantage for Google UK ranking while not hurt your current ranking in Google.com after all.

You shouldn't geo it to Uk only google crawlers are pretty smart normally they can figure out themselves

if you're solely targeting the UK market though, don't you want to appear higher on google.co.uk rather than google.com?

if so, maybe you want to forget about google.com and set your geotargeting as UK, as well as ensure you're on UK hosting servers, and your ranking would hopefully improve in google.co.uk?

The truth is, for .com/net etc, change GEO cause almost nothing, from SERP to traffic, nothing changes
