I've used them for .ca. Their domain manager interface is VERY annoying. It is difficult to add another domain to the account.. so much so that I'm moving the .ca somewhere else. I have no idea how they can offer .com for $4.95.

Usually the catch is they make it hard for you to transfer to another registrar, but with netfirms, I'm not sure.

Well, with Yahoo the catch is that it's only the first year you pay $2.95... it's $9.95 (I think) every year after.

Makes it very hard to transfer the domain to someone else, to transfer the domain to another register.
Plus like godaddy, they do love to send you emails.

    Stick with namecheap.
$8.88 for .com down to like $2.48 for some extensions.
Use the coupon code BESTVALUE and save 10% more.

Although Yahoo offers domains at $2.99 any others you register with them will be higher. I have two domains with them. The first was $2.99 the second ended up being $7.99 both of which are .com extensions and no added features. So the $2.99 is a one time deal.

This is my first time with netfirms getting 2 domains and hosting for $10 a year as offered here: http://netfirms.com/max

no catch seen yet and due domains are hosted, so no idea about how hard will be move them away, which I do not pretend to do.

I grabbed a Yahoo domain for the same netfirm's price past year and next to the renewal date I moved it to Dynadot, $7.99 a year, with no catch or hassle involved.

I registered 1 domain with yahoo when they were doing the $1.99 special. After waiting the normal 60 days, I transferred to another registrar without a hitch. Easy as pie.

I registered my domain with yahoo when the 2.99$ offer for 5 years were on.. (But by mistake I took for only 2 years). Still yahoo is offering domains for 2.99 but only for 1st year.. I heard that transferring domains from yahoo is difficult.. dont have much info on that..

I'm a happy Netfirms user. Don't know about transferring to another registrar, but transferring to another Netfirms acct it's easy as pie. And they don't send you many emails at all. The thing is that it's $9.95 per domain after year 1.
