Am i right in thinking that they are seperate progams? IE -> i'm registered with amazon.com, but my traffic is about equal from US and UK, so if a UK visitor clicks a link that takes them to amazon.com, and then follows the link to amazon.co.uk and buys something, i don't get the referral? That's a bit crappy if that's the case.
If you are registered only with Amazon.com, you will only receive referral fees for Amazon.com products. You must therefore also register with Amazon.co.uk.
Sorry . . . Now I understand what you mean. You're right . . . It's all "a bit crappy." If someone from the UK clicks through to the US site, then goes through to the UK site, you will not make a commission, even if you are registered as an associate of both sites. Your best bet, therefore, is to make it clear on your site which links go through to the US site and which links go through to the UK site. By the way . . . Are you some sort of huge fan of Andy Peters, or are you Andy Peters himself?
Andy Peters rules! Even a pale imitation would be enough! Doesn't Associate-o-Matic, or rather the CGI script it relies on, the Mr. Ratty one, or whatever it's called, do that work for you, detecting where you are from and pointing your visitor towards the appropriate Amazon site, including .de and all the rest?
I think i will just write a script that determines the users location and then display the correct icon. Thanks By the way, i'm not Andi Peters, unforunately. I'm told i look a bit like him sometimes (even though i'm white .... ) though. Still, the man is a legend so it's OK.
