Colour photography or black and white?

I am just a " hobby" photographer but I love to take black and white photos. I love taking pictures of old derelict buildings and feel black and white capture their atmosphere completely. What do you think, do you prefer colour photos or black and white?

 

Well, it depends upon the situation and type of place you are taking pics.
As in few places, black & white looks best while at others color is good.

 

I agree with Digital_shubhi, So I would say it depends on the situation, the photo itself (what is the photo of), the purpose of the photo, and mainly... decide if the photo looks better in black & white or color. Which ever makes the photo looks best, I would go with. But I like both black & white and color photos.

 

it maybe feel like classic style for you but not for everyone.

 

Color photographs are great when the colors are vibrant. Black & white photographs are classic.

 

some photos are good in white and black, but the others are perfect in color

 

I think Color photography is must for now a days. even nobody wants to make his photo black and white.

 

I think black & white photography gives a classy look.

 

Black and white pictures are good, but I like color photo more. I think taking color photo requires less technique.

Colors infuse life in to the images while black and white make the images classic. I like color photos.

 

It is true that the situation and subject dictates the use of colour. I have just been away or a weekend with lots of girlfriends and every photo that I took was in colour. There was lots of dressing up in very bright 1980's clothes and make up so black and white would not have capture the atmosphere at all. Stark buildings and trees with no foliage cry out for black and white images. I am just a beginner but I am on the look out for these things to photograph.

 

Personally i love takin black n white pictures... colored pictures dont look so catchy...

 

only like color photography.

 

since now a days every one changed to color photography now if you show some thing in black and white you will be the odd one out so you can reach easily

 

For me B & W works fine if it can be done in proper manner.
