Please check out my site - http://www.birthdaysonabudget.com/ and give me some feedback.

Do you think the Adsense placement works? What about the content of my website? Do you think it will draw visitors?

Help me out! New at this ya know?

Cute site. I would cut the depth of banner. You have the two little google ads to right of content. If you switched position they would be in a hot spot. I for one am not willing to give my prime real estate but they might bring in more revenue switched.

What I'm gonna do is keep the same banner setup for 2 weeks, then try changing colors, then switch places, etc. After 2 months I will have a good idea of what's working good for me. Maybe you should do the same.

I like the colors on your site, it looks like a birthday party already :)

The topic pages are not displaying correctly with Firefox.

    Welcome to the Forums!

I actually think there is a bit to much in the Adsense. I would omit the blue on the URL and keep the ad just 2 colours.

The best thing to do with a new site is experiment and check your channel results. It took about a year to get things where they are on my site where I am happy with the Adsense results.

I doubt you are making much money anyyay..not worth the time effort to modify the ads. Might as well build a site that pays more.

How do I know or learn what sites will pay more? My site isn't making anything because it's a week old and incomplete. I'm still working on it. I just wanted some intial feedback.

    Thanks

You could always run an Adwords campaign for a couple of months to bring some visitors to your site. I have an Adwords campaign running for my site running at all times. I think Adwords are a great way to get targeted traffic to your site when your site is brand new. You don't have to spend very much to get some targeted visitors.

One thing your site could use is something that will make visitors return again and again. Birthdays are only once a year but you want your visitors to come back each day.

    Good luck with the site.

I would say ditch the adsense unit on the right side. Stick a square unit on the left - maybe between topic and articles or maybe above topic - and blend the colors.

Get a link unit of 5 and stick that on the piece of blue real estate that you have between your banner and the rest of the page - make sure it crosses all columns - you might want to center it too.

The other adsense unit is okay for now.

Colours are nice. I like it. When you get a creative burst next time, jazz the site up a bit to increase the 'birthday' and 'budget' factor.

I would make the column on the left a bit narrower.

    Good Luck!
