The color scheme that I like the most is a light background (usually prefer white or light blue) with dark colored text. The black background with white text just strains my eyes.

There is one kind of thing where I like white on black, and that's for things like winter scenes or night scenes.

    I made a page:

A rather informal winter page. I had made the text white originally, and it looked decent. But I decided I liked the blue better.

Do you remember the notebook paper about the same pale green as used on DP? Supposedly it was easier on the eyes than white notebook paper (that may have only been used to promote the sale.)

I find white harder on my eyes than a page with a light color tint. I have no problem reading light text on dark background.

You don't have to imagine if you have Firefox, just go to Tools - Options - Fonts and Colors in Firefox and you can have DP in your favorite color scheme ( mine happens to be white on black )

Dark color schemes are mostly good for software that you spend a lot of time working with. In web pages it can get you annoyed, because if you stay and read at dark theme page and then just go to the other site with light theme you will get a huge blast of light. :D
