    I once had a tool which would give me the color code for a color i saw on another website. Does anyone know where i can find a tool like this?

    I don;t have such a tool, but what also works:

    * Make a screen dump (ALT + PrtSc)
    * open Paint (Programs -> Accessories -> paint) (on windows)
    * paste the image (CTRL+V)
    * Click on the color picker icon (4th row, 1st image)
    * Click on the color you want to know
    * Select Colors from the top menu, click on Custom Colors

    and you will see the red + green + blue parts.

    That works, although that icon is not always in the same position depending on the program.

    The icon looks like an eye dropper...

    Good luck

    Firefox has a very cool plugin for this. Search for ColorZilla Color Picker.

    I also heartily endorse colorzilla, I am almost contantly using either it or the pixel counter plugin for firefox when designing sites or adsense units.

    Colorzilla also outlines DIV's for you when you mouseover them, great for figuring out CSS stuff.

    Simple easy to use http://www.inetia.com/eng/eyedropper_eng.php, just sits in your tool bar so you can colour pick anything on your screen in HEX or RGB.

    Happy days.

    If your using something like dreamweaver or fireworks both from macromedia, and you get to the point where you have to choose a color a color picker will show as well as a hex RGB value. Exactly what you need. Good for picking the color and adding it straight into your code if your using dreamweaver.
