What would be the best way to compare shared 100Mbit unmetered bandwidth with 10Mbit non shared ?

I try to understand what would be better to handle 10Mbit without sharing it or 100 shared, to see the performance difference

    there is a difference

you get 10 mbps just to you no one else is connected to that line but you.

but were in a 100 mbps shared there might be 15 -25 servers connected to the same line.

It depends on your provider and how they sell the 100 mbps. Sometimes they do state that 100 mbps shared maximum burstible can be 5 mbps etc. If I am using less than 10 mbps, I would opt for the 10 mbps dedicated as it will be more suitable. This will depend on your pattern of usage too.

but how do you know how much are you using ? I mean not the speed to download from your server but the size of the stream, like if 1000 people will connect at the same time

we dont know but you can ask the data center and the will provide you with bandwidth charts.

i would say divide the speed in half and you will have that much available at any time. 100/2 = 50mbps which is equal to having like 50 kb per second. but if you need that kind of speeds i would recommend a 1gps line. if you have a 100 mbps share i would not recomend having more than 300 people people streaming at a time. that is alot of people meaning your site should get about 250k uvs a day.
