    lo,

I'm thinking of starting forums for my college, just for the pupils to talk trash and for the teachers to dump the results.

If I'd start this, The word could be spread very quick..

my benefits will be advertisement.. and of course admin POWER .. but the first thing is most important.

So, I'm wondering, which forum script is the best to use.. I've been using PHPBB and YaBB which are a kind a crap.. I dunno a bunch about invision power board & vbulleting.. please let me know which is the best..

and the domain name.. the name of the school is: H.N Werkman college, (www.werkman.org is theirs) I might go for werkmanforum.nl (the school is in the Netherlands) or something..

Thanks for reading, I hope to have some useful replies

I used to use YaBB, Phpbb, Invision, XMB, but once I went to Vbulletin, I got addicted to it. Look better than others. If you're developing a forum, you gotta think it through. Will it work? Will it be blow up?

If its going to be popular you're going to want to go with vbulletin.

$160 to buy it, after 1 year it's $30/year to have access to updates.

    $85/year to lease it.

I say buy it. If your college forum doesn't work out, you can use the license on another site.

IPB is on par with vBulletin in regards to being a professional board. It's also more expensive.

If you want free, go with SMF.
