I've been collecting cans, bottles, and glass bottles for the last 4 days and I have about $14 worth. I'm gonna post a picture of my reCYCLING bike on my blog (www.blog.ethantheemazing.com) tomorrow. Just thought some of you might find it interesting. My goal is to earn $250 from recycling in a year. I'll be posting my progress on my blog as well.

I believe he only said $250 a year. $250 a month would be something though. 500 cans a month, 6,000 a year. 6,000 cans a year would be about 939.84962406015037593984962406015 pounds of carbon reduced... About...

Our state pays 10 cents per can. So in reality it is worth it, the kids like the walk and rewards!

Yea my goal is $250 this year. 3 years ago me and my dad made over $1500 in the summer. Your lucky for gettin 10 cents. We only get 5, but thats still pretty good when I pick up about enough cans to make 4 to 5 dollars a day.

Aluminum is worth recycling, but recycled plastic and glass have turned out to be more expensive than virgin materials. Check the facts at Recycling Criticism.

My kids love to go pop bottle hunting. I live in a .10 deposit state so they usually find about $5 sometimes $10 a day when they go out. This is a great way for them to earn a little money of their own while doing something good for the community.

Thanks for the info. But they still pay me $0.05 for them so its still very worth it to me to recycle them.

We save our Aluminum cans and crush them and every 2 -3 years haul them off and get 45 Cents a pound. A 40 pound bag brings around 18 bucks.

Recycling will be the way to go in future given the rapidity with which we use disposable things in our day-today life.

Collecting can and bottles pays very little in my country but it's the satisfaction of helping the environment that makes it worthwhile.
