Is it allowed to take a number of results from google search with curl? We have planned a service, but we need the number of results. How services like this one http://www.statbrain.com/www.stardoll.com/ take them?
Google's Terms of Service do not allow any automated queries, so if you use curl to get information from Google and then show that information on your site you may have your website's access to Google blocked and might even have your site penalized. Most sites that offer services like the one you show are set up to disguise their queries to look like normal users. And so as long as they don't get used very much, then Google's system will let it continue to work. I wouldn't suggest that you try it on any site that you really care about - especially if you are going to show search results on your site.
But that site have rank 4k on alexa, and exist over 2 years. It must be a way to take legal just number results for some keyword. Does anyone know how?
