    Hello
I'm new in web dynamic development, I have just do the first step by choosing Coldfusion and MySql after reading thousands of articles during 3 lasts weeks but I still have a lots of questions before I start

Does Dreamwaver CS3 support Coldfusion 8 or 9, if no:

Is there a big difference between Coldfusion MX7 and Coldfusion 8 / Coldfusion 9 that worth to migrate to DW CS4 (because I have already Adobe CS3 Installed in my computer and I'm used to, and I have a lots of Tutorial for DW CS3 and CF MX7)

Can i host my web site developed with DW CS3 and Coldfusion MX7 in a web hosting company that provide Coldfusion 8 or 9, in other manner I want to now if Coldfusion 8 / Coldfusion 9 support Coldfusion MX7 or if there some changes in code between the three versions

My last question if any one know any free web hosting just for testing my web application that give me Coldfusion with Mysql, all the solutions I found give me coldfusion but MS Sql for database instead of MySql

    Any help will be appreciate
    Thank you

You can get updated extensions for Dreamweaver (tag insight and help files). I don't use it though... so that's all I know.

Yes. CF8 and 9 have a lot more features like pdf support, image handling, office/spreadsheets, orm, etc..

Bottom line, you can develop in any version you want. But it's generally better to use the same versions for development and production. No matter how backward compatible they try and make it, there may be slight differences. You won't catch those if you're using a different version locally. Plus, you wont' be able to test any of the new CF8/9 features if you're running MX7 locally. Why not just install CF8/9? It's free..

    yeah! i suggest u go for cf9.

the reason issimple, you will learn more and advanced features. there are very few websites out thgere which run low on cf6 and below. even if u encounter any issue, you can always check adobe livedocs which list the documentation version wise

It does not really make much difference to CF. CF is just a messenger, sending off your sql to the db for handling. So both are good choices, and both are supported. Though if you're familiar with one or the other, it might be easier to stick to the one you know. Or if you've used MS Access, you might be more familiar with MS SQL syntax. But they're both good.
