Coffee is really good for you! Do you agree? Do you drink coffee?

Coffee tastes good and helps wake you up in the morning but did you know that coffee drinkers, compared to nondrinkers, are: less likely to have type 2 diabetes Parkinson's disease, and dementia and have fewer cases of certain cancers, heart rhythm problems, and strokes.

All I know is that if I don't jump start my body with caffeine in the morning, it simply won't function. So for me there is no choice...it's coffee or immobility.

As with all studies I'd like to clarify the bit about coffee and T2 diabetes. How is the coffee consumed - I'd suggest that the Starbucks variety with sugary syrups & artificial flavours probably exacerbate metabolic syndrome.

Never liked the taste of coffee, so I am a tea drinker, through and through. Tea supposedly has health benefits, as well.

Is coffee healthy or not? It must be the most difficult question to answer. One day media tell that it's healthy and the other day they tell that it's unhealthy. So I don't really know what to think. However, the health benefits that you suggest that coffee has, makes me want to drink a cup of coffee right away.

Coffee (caffeine) is a mild drug, so it has to be good for you, right? ;)

I switched to decaf a year or so ago didn't notice a difference. In the past I ONLY drank caffeinated coffee. SO... it's not just the caffeine, it's the experience that matters.

Actually, I have to stop all caffeine intake by early afternoon or I will toss and turn all night. So, for me it is tea in the morning until right after lunch and ice water only thereafter.

I have a huge tolerance to coffee. I can literally drink it an hour before bed.

Italians have a long life expectancy and they have a huge coffee culture. Mind you the Mediterranean diet is also very healthy for you, so you can't just attribute it to coffee.

I don't drink coffee myself but everyone I know does. The amount of times they go to Starbucks...just crazy so I'm glad since I'm saving a couple bucks.
