    Hi,

I'm a software developer by trade and by hobby. Recently, I've become interested in site flipping as it seems that it is something really easy to do to generate some extra cash.

Here's my deal -- I see a lot of sites on these forums that are just horrible looking and horrible in functionality -- I believe my niche could be improving the sites designs and functionality -- thereby increasing it's worth so at some point I'd sell it to make profit. Now doing this for some people seems like a lot of work but for me it wouldn't be and since I like doing that sort of stuff it's not as much of an arduous task as it may seem to some.

    So here's my questions:

    1) What type of hosting solution do you guys use? I don't think I'm interested in shared hosting like DreamHost cause the sites I'd be dealing with are prob. not going to be 1-2 page sites but more like full-fledged db-backed sites with lots of custom code. I've had a vps in the past but they are usually $20/month and dedicated servers are a bit out of my financial reach at the moment for a project like this. So, do you guys seriously try to host anything bigger than 2page websites on shared hosting??

    2) What should I start to tackle first? Should I start just improving the 2page websites and transform them into something else? Is it worth my time? It seems all the 2-4 page websites around here are strictly for marketing/affiliate stuff rather than diff. income means such as SAAS or adsense, etc.

In general knowing that I have the skills to improve these sites what would you suggest for me to get started as quickly as possible without making too large of an upfront investment -- I'm thinking no more than $200 or so for the first couple of weeks. (which should be plenty for hosting, buying established sites and such I think right?)

Thanks for your suggestions -- hope I posted in the right forum!

There are some great videos on youtube about site flipping. I personally buy and hold sites for income, but I've come across some GREAT informational videos over the last few months. Hope I was of some help, I don't have too extensive of a knowledge base on flipping.

    Welcome

1.Yes i used to host 10 page full flash website at shared hosting. But later i switch to dedicated server coz the shared hosting is too slow as complained by my user.

2.You should transform it to better such as having sufficient content to keep visitor coming back for more. And then only start focusing on layout.

3.$200 will be sufficient but you need a lot of time to turn around the website to start earning.
