    Hey Guys, and Gals

    I am the owner of SeekIt.ws a Metasearch Engine that is in its Beta version to our up and coming search engine Orkbo. SeekIt is about to reach it's 1000 visitor in just 5 days which is really exciting.

    I am pleased to tell you that our new algorithm is currently live and is now in its live testing stage. If I could get some reviews on the new results I would be grateful.

    Any suggestions would be awesome

    Thanks

    Jody Fitzpatrick

    I am not often impressed by another metasearch coming along, but I like yours a lot. It seems to be fairly close to google natural results and of course that's a always good. The interface clean, readable and quick.

    Wow @longcall911 thanks a lot man.

    Thansk Pudge1 as well.

    I'm trying my best to make it something, I'm constantly waking up in the middle of the night to work on it, as well as always pondering ideas in my head. It's improving, and will have a new algorithm update very soon that will improve the results more. I'm also going to soon be experimenting with our on portal News, Astrology etc.

    Heres to the Best

    Once again thanks for all the kind words.

    Jody Fitzpatrick

    P.S

    Any other thoughts are warmly welcomed.

    Not to shabby... i think you need to offer more than one page for search results.. (i could be wrong but i did not see any page 1,2,3,4,5, and so on like google).

    Would be nice if you had a .com domain name.

    Best of luck, as the above DP member mentioned it's not often you come across a unique search engine, keep up the good work.

    design is good (but too much animation)
    speed: slow
    Overall it's not bad, but there's no reason why I should change Google

    Ah yes .. the ever present snow falling script .. I'm reminded to go in and put my snow falling script on my main page for a while .. :D

    Well I'll tell you .. it looks a lot better than my niche tech search does.

    I've often thought of implementing ajax with mine, but in this business, where does the time go?

    Is there a way you could add home page links outside of the script on this?

    There aren't many who would use the back button on the browser if they are in 6 or 8 pages deep .. a home page link might do the trick for them though.

    as an aside;

    I'm feeling especially gracious this holiday season, and if you would like a header/footer for this, with links, I'll bang 'em out for you ... free of charge .. of course .. :D

    ---

    Added note;

    There .. now I've got my snow script on .. Firefox doesn't know how to render java very well ... it does so much better in explorer however ..

    Trouble with java script is that it's always been slow to load.

    I've put off putting on my holiday scripts (like snow falling for instance) because of the load speed difference.

    Java just performs poorly and unfortunately, there isn't any way around it.

    No, no silverlight. ha ha.

    But thanks to everyone who has commented on this search engine. This search engine is still in the works, and I am constantly looking on ways to improve it. For the most part the execution of the search should take no longer than 1.5 seconds. ( which 1.5 seconds to me is a long time ) but I feel that the snow falling is what is making it go slow and it's only on the home page.

    As for more results they are coming soon

    -- BTW @webshoppesolutions - awesome site. I like your snow script as well. mine was free something I found on the web. Wanted to make it seem more holiday-e-er

    If you would really put a link on your site I would love you forever ;) It's still in its beta version, and it has a new URL. Orkbo - http://www.orkbo.com

    Once again, thanks everyone - if this post didn't make any sense it's because it's 5 in the morning and I've been up all night.

    More comments, and suggestions welcomed. :)

    I haven't gone over the crawl logs lately, but according to a search of our index, your site is there;

    http://www.webshoppesolutions.com/tech/search.php?query=orkbo&submit=Tech+Search&search=1

    Our user agent (User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; BigSkyBot/1.06; +http://www.webshoppesolutions.com/bot.htm).) isn't allowed to index other indexes directly due to the nature of our search. Only information technology types of listing appear in our index .. you might find yourself being listed more than once in our index if you had other IT related pages on your domain.
