Code to text ratio

    My site's code to text ratio shows 8.84%, is it good or bad? Could anyone please explain it..

    never really thought about this factor for SEO. I don't think it's the real deciding factor if you knwo what i mean

    it depends, if you're code doesn't validate then it does matter. But Google basically strips html tags and indexes your content. It then checks the tags for anything odd or spammy, so try to validate your site.

    It's normally a bad thing, but it's dependent entirley on how much code and content there is in the first place. It's not what I'd call an exact science since each Web page is different, but one thing you have to remember is that not everyone is a minimal markup expert (I happen to be one) so you may be asking too much of yourself or your designer/developer to reduce the code weight and to emphasize the appropriate content by using proper semantic markup in accordance with the HTML specification (and to Hell with what the SEO crowd says).
